Abstract

A process analysis is a status-quo-analysis of current processes in a defined area according to explicit academic methods – e.g. in a company or business unit. First of all, it is important to recognize and disclose current processes. In a further step these are to be described, systematically represented as well as methodically documented. In simple terms: a freeze image of the examined unit is created displaying processes in an academically and methodically secured way and creating an overview that would not be visible at mere observation of single concrete processes or operational descriptions.
Methods: interviews, participating observation, method 6-3-5, clustering.

Abstract

The forth Interim Report describes the second project term adding the final report of the first project term from August 2004. It focuses on development and experiences description and reflexion of the report period between September 2004 and December 2005. The topics IT- equipment, new user scenarios due to increasing networking and integration of IT in the classroom as well as the discussion of the so far existing strict distinction between financing of the “pedagogical support” under state supervision and of “technical support” under municipal supervision provide a dynamic range of topics. Against this specific background the range of responsibilities or cooperative operational processes that had been implemented or deemed necessary are described and justified. The report shows concrete results and organizational measures that aim at optimizing the offered services and therefore at consolidating the project.

Abstract

The model project “fraLine” features a staff consisting mainly of technical students. As a pilot project it had been initially calculated for the period of three years. Due to the very positive progress it made the cooperation partners decided to extend the project term for another three years as a start. The final report includes the entire first project term of fraLine – IT-Schul-Service until end of August 2004 and reflects developments and experiences as well as some necessary adjustments of the original concept eventually giving an outlook for the following three years of continued cooperation as of September 2004. The results of the internal and external evaluation, conducted as part of the agreed quality assurance measures, are briefly introduced.

Abstract

The model project “fraLine” tests the non-commercial demand-oriented implementation of a central IT-school-support in the municipal area. The promptest possible resolution of IT-problems in Frankfurt schools constitutes its core business thereby providing the right conditions for the use of new media in the classroom. Practical experience in IT-school-support shows that the strict distinction between “technical” and “pedagogical support” hardly exists. Not only technical support and practical assistance but also the every-day use of media in schools has to be ensured.
Likewise, the new SPoC-concept has been approved and established by now. fraLine acts as central point of contact for all requests in the field of IT-school-support. That is to say schools do not have to deal with changing contact persons or to figure out the right contact person for the respective area of responsibility.
The coordination of part-time employees constitutes a special challenge which is met by the implementation and internal development of a helpdesk system with an integrated personnel-planning-tool.
Until the end of the project significant experiences and data will be available answering the central question: How is it possible to develop a productive future-oriented model for IT-school-support and development that integrates such opposing requirements as making new media available in schools according to customer needs, supporting teachers sustainably in using new media and further developing the necessary IT-school-network standards without impeding pedagogical freedom.

Abstract

The project fraLine – IT-School-Service was established in October 2001. At the beginning of the following year several schools were able to receive fraLine service during a three-months pilot phase. For internal evaluation and service optimization fraLine uses an internal feedback system. After successful resolution of a problem a standardized feedback-questionnaire is sent randomly to the respective school and is evaluated at regular intervals. The results are directly incorporated into our current work.
